A3C Bring ‘Green’ Awards to Ann Arbor

A3C-Collaborative Architecture's Sustainable Showcase and rooftop UrbEn Retreat were awarded Michigan's Going Green Award 2008 by Corp! magazine. Corp! is Michigan's largest business magazine, and is dedicated to raising the profile of business in the community and driving it forward. Being nominated in the Green Initiatives category, A3C met and exceeded the criteria by implementing green products, technologies and methodologies in its building and business practices.

In addition, A3C's Sustainable Showcase and rooftop UrbEn Retreat were awarded an Honorable Mention by Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) in their newest award category, Green Building of the Year. The new award was instituted by CAM to offer the industry information and insight into sustainable design and construction. Projects were evaluated based on environmental sustainability of design and construction and those using eco-friendly, innovative techniques or strategies were favored. CAM is a not-for-profit organization providing service, information and assistance to the construction industry.

It was A3C - Collaborative Architecture's commitment to sustainable design that led them to embark on a renovation of their corporate offices in downtown Ann Arbor. Two years later, their project is complete featuring a Sustainable Showcase and rooftop UrbEn Retreat overlooking its demonstration/research green roof. The project is an educational tool for the community as well as A3C's clients about the benefits of sustainable design.
