Project Description

Humane Society of Huron Valley

As a community resource, the new facility provides an inviting and healthy environment so more animals find a loving home. The innovative design weaves humane education throughout, incorporates a geothermal system, and uses current research to prevent disease and reduce noise and stress. The new facility also improves its environmental impact through implementing storm water management best practices, limiting impervious surfaces, preserving natural buffers and increasing water conservation. A highlight of the new building is the focus on prevention and education to address the root causes of issues that impact animals. A multi-purpose room provides space for classes, dog training, events, and volunteers to work with pets and their families.
