Project Description

Ozone House

A3C worked with Ozone House for over 10 years to plan their “forever home.” The doors of their new headquarters, housing and meeting and training spaces at 1600 North Huron River Drive opened in early 2020. Ozone House is a community based, nonprofit agency that helps young people lead safe, healthy, and productive lives through intensive intervention and prevention services.

Ozone House has moved seven times in its 50 year history and is ready for the stability of a forever home in the community.

~Krista Girty – Executive Director

The 19,000 SF facility is three levels nestled into a wooded hillside on the Huron River. The three legs of the facility create a courtyard facing the river which is ideal for enjoying the outdoors. Two existing programs will come together in the new facility, providing staff efficiencies, more than doubling their current housing capacity and providing future expansion space.

Designed with sustainable materials to exceed current energy codes and approximately 40% of its power needs generated by roof top solar PV, Ozone House will minimize both their carbon footprint and ongoing operational costs—meaning more dollars are directed into serving the needs of youth and young adults.
